Welcome to this week's installment, highlighting a tool my colleague and friend, Roman Beck, introduced me to during a recent inspection.
Handy lighting tool for inspections
Proper lighting makes a huge difference when analyzing and photographing damage to a vehicle, helmet, apparel, etc. Indoor inspections can be especially challenging. I have several lighting solutions in my kit, including this bad boy (as a bonus, it makes me feel like a Jedi...but is no longer available). A more compact, less expensive, and similarly useful tool is Pixel's G2s. I don't see myself using the special effects, but it's got a lot going for it, so I ordered one today.
From B&H Photo: The Pixel G2s packs a wide color temperature range of 2500 to 8500K, selectable RGB colors, and 10 built-in special effects into a compact video light that's only 0.4" thick. The RGB colors allow you to set different colorful moods in your shots. The special effects include lightning, police siren, and candlelight, which can be used in the background as economical solutions for adding production value to your shots.
Thanks for reading along, have a great weekend!
