I’m calling this week’s topic paper related, not tool related, in accordance with last week’s Brownie Promise.

Having the right paper to address an issue is a big part of an accurate analysis. This week’s email relates to one of my favorite sources for papers, and a hack for learning more about the research before committing to the buy/read.

A handy little button to preview SAE papers

My search for pertinent papers usually starts at SAE.org. While the 250-ish-word abstracts offer some key details about the topic and methods, I often want more info to determine if the paper discusses topics that address issues important to the subject case. I’m not sure how long this sweet little gem of a button has existed, but I can tell you I only noticed it a few months ago.

The Preview Document button directly above the Add to Cart button instantly pops open a five-page preview of the paper, allowing you to get a better sense of the paper’s specifics. Super useful as you’re scouring around the web looking for on-point data.

Thanks for reading along, have a great weekend!

P.S. If you already knew about the button, please accept my apologies and at least enjoy watching this video detailing how I train at the gym to endure long travel days.
