Imagine having a group of experienced and knowledgeable recons you could connect with when you’re stuck on a case, need help finding a paper, or wondering what software package to buy? That’s this week's point…

A group of recon gurus

The International Network of Collision Reconstructionists (generally called “Inker” or I-N-C-R) was started in 1999 with the aim to:

- “Establish professional contacts with fellow recons around the world,

- Consult one another on difficult reconstructions,

- Share new ideas, products and techniques,

- Share the results of tests and experiments,

- Share court decisions and laws,

- Announce courses, meetings, and product demos,

- Assist other investigators in locating needed information, and

- Share interesting and/or humorous experiences in the field of recon.”

The group is moderated, primarily, by Wade Bartlett and consists of over 1,900 members, so there’s bound to be a someone with the know-how you’re seeking. The group is comprised of LEOs, engineers, and many specialists that might be difficult to otherwise access. Looking back in the archives, I see I joined in 2008 and it’s been a tremendous asset all those years.

It’s an invitation-only network, but please reply to this email if you’d like to be nominated for membership and, if appropriate, I’d be happy to start the ball rolling. There’s power in numbers.
